Cubs shutout by Brewers at Miller Park

Wow! What a game you saw last night if you had Milwaukee Brewers tickets, when Yovani Gallardo threw a no hitter for the WIN_TEAM!! Congratulations to Gallardo as well as the Brewers for an incredible accomplishment. You never know what you will see at a baseball game and if you were at Miller Park yesterday you’ll have a story to tell for the rest of your life! Wow! What a nail biter! This was a pitchers duel that Yovani Gallardo and Casey Coleman will never forget! Fans with Brewers tickets saw two fantastic pitchers do battle. You don’t see baseball games as low-scoring as this, and when you do you better appreciate it!

Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo (3.64 ERA) got the win, while Casey Coleman (5.11 ERA) took the loss for the Cubs. Yovani Gallardo went 7 solid innings for the Brewers, allowed 4 hits, no home runs and no earned runs with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Brewers was Kameron Loe (2.77). The Cubs’s starter Casey Coleman went 6 innings, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Marcos Mateo (7.63), James Russell (5.32), and Thomas Diamond (7.50) also pitched for the Cubs. With the win, Gallardo’s record goes to 12-7, while Coleman falls to 1-2. John Axford earned the save for the Brewers, bringing his saves up to 21.

In addition to the 2 runs, the Brewers managed 6 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Brewers, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Casey McGehee had a tough day at the plate, leaving 5 runners on base. The Cubs didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Cubs managed no runs, 5 hits and one error.

Umpiring duties were performed by Ed Rapuano, Tom Hallion, Ron Kulpa and Lance Barksdale. There were 37,317 Brewers ticket holders in attendance at Miller Park.
