Cubs defeat Pirates at PNC Park

The Chicago Cubs faced the the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday at PNC Park with the Cubs winning 8 to 5. It was quite a game that followers with Cubs tickets will be talking about for days.

Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano (3.77 ERA) got the win, while Kevin Hart (4.86 ERA) took the loss for the Pirates. Carlos Zambrano went 6 innings for the Cubs, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and 2 earned runs with 3 walks and 8 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Cubs was John Grabow (2.95), and Kevin Gregg (4.92). The win puts the Cubs at a record of 71-67, (11.5 games behind first place in the division), while the loss brings the Pirates to 54-84, (28.5 games behind the division leader).
